Intra-Group Lethal Gang Aggression in Pigs

  • Key finding:

This paper details the extreme case of intra-group lethal gang aggression, whereby multiple pigs attack and kill a group mate that they have been housed with for some time. This strongly differs from the aggression that is seen at regrouping unfamiliar animals, and indicates new aspects of aggression that were not studied before.
