Head of School – Animal Welfare and Management

The Head of School will report to the Director of Curriculum, providing inspirational leadership to curriculum area teams. You will be responsible for providing an outstanding student experience through high quality teaching, learning and assessment while ensuring the provision of first class student resources. You will effectively lead and manage the curriculum area and teaching teams to ensure students are able to achieve their potential. In addition to a team of teaching staff you will also line manage a team of technical staff who are responsible for caring for our animal collection on site and supporting students in their classes. The curriculum is offered over 2 sites based in Moulton and Higham Ferrers and you will be adept at managing staff and services remotely. You will drive high standards in the area and work with colleagues to drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the curriculum.

To be considered for this role you will need to hold a formal teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and a relevant Animal or related qualification at Level 3. Ideally you will also be qualified to degree level and hold a specific management qualification. You will be experienced in managing budgets and implementing innovative curriculum developments. You will be able to build positive and productive business relationships with internal and external stakeholders and be able to demonstrate experience of developing and implementing actions plans to achieve agreed targets.

Salary: £38,650 to £46,823 per annum
