Main duties and responsibilities

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor in Dairy Animal Science. The opportunity arises because of the strategic desire to strengthen and enhance the research programme within the internationally recognised Centre for Dairy Research.

The appointee is expected to make a significant contribution to the research agenda of the Department of Animal Sciences within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development and develop a successful externally funded research portfolio. We would welcome applications from individuals with interests within the broad area of Animal Science but are especially interested in growing our research excellence in the areas of sustainable and efficient production of animal-derived foods with a major focus on sustainable dairy production.

Although we view this as a research focussed post the appointee will be expected to engage with both under- and post-graduate teaching and to demonstrate the ability and willingness to engage in multi-disciplinary activities, in particular with the Institute of Nutrition, Food and Health, Walker Institute for Climate Change Research, Soil Research Centre, and other Departments within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development.
