Research Assistant (Rehoming)

We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our Canine Behaviour and Research team to support research activities related to adoption and post adoption support.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centers and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 9,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

The Canine Behaviour & Research department delivers the technical resources and skills to enable Dogs Trust staff to provide the best possible support for the dogs within its care and evidence-based advice to external stakeholders in order to improve canine welfare worldwide.

In this varied and interesting role, you will be supporting the delivery of several longitudinal cohort studies related to rehoming and post adoption support. As a trusted ambassador for the team, you will collaborate closely with other Dogs Trust departments and support timely and accurate communication of our research activity both internally and externally.

With a degree level qualification in zoology, animal behaviour or welfare you will have good communication and organisational skills as well as good understanding of IT. A masters degree in animal behaviour & welfare or related field would be desirable. The role will require regular travel to our Rehoming Centres and other sites therefore a full UK manual driving license is required.
