Administrative Assistant in Animal Health, Behaviour and Welfare

Harper Adams University is looking for a highly motivated individual to become the Administrative Assistant for the department’s Veterinary Nursing placement team and Programme Managers. The Department has a strong portfolio of veterinary nursing, veterinary physiotherapy and animal health, behaviour and welfare science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With growth in student numbers and an expanding academic staff team, this is an exciting time to join the Department.

The successful candidate will have high-level interpersonal skills, and be confident and motivated, with personal drive, enthusiasm, flexibility and initiative. They will provide excellent administrative and secretarial skills to help ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the Department.

They will have the ability to organise and deliver work under the pressure of deadlines, and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Applicants will be expected to be fully computer literate, and able to competently use the full range of Microsoft Office products. They will have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. There is also a need for attention to detail and precision in the handling of data. Previous experience in an academic environment or customer services role is desirable.

This is a part-time role, 0.6 FTE (22.2 hours per week)

Salary: £18,852 - £20,092 pro rata (0.6 FTE)
