The vision of the AWRN is to foster enhanced collaboration and cohesion within the animal welfare research community, with a view to increasing successful grant-funded research and promoting the impact of outputs from research. The AWRN will hold interactive meetings and workshops to stimulate discussion between members and to provide the opportunity for interacting with relevant industry, and other stakeholders, to identify research gaps and potential future research areas. It is hoped that the network will provide a forum for discussion of research activities and the opportunity to develop a researcher exchange programme, a mentoring scheme and support for early career researchers.
Individual membership is open to all active academic UK researchers (including PhD students), who are working within an animal welfare related discipline. Organisation membership is available for stakeholders including individuals representing industry bodies and charities with an animal welfare relevance. Although membership is primarily intended for the UK animal welfare research community, we encourage applications from established international researchers, who wish to form collaborative links within the UK.
Membership is currently free to all applicants. To become a member of the network, please complete the following membership application form and return it to awrn-manager@bristol.ac.uk or AWRN Manager, Dolberry Building, Langford House, Langford, Bristol, BS40 5DU, UK. If you have already completed a form expressing an interest in joining the AWRN you do not need to complete this.
Please note: Membership may be subject to a security clearance. Please proceed with your application if you are willing to undergo such a clearance. This process will ensure the network provides an open and secure forum for discussion of all research activities.
