Pig Welfare in the Americas Conference

International Conference taking place on 28th and 29th September 2022.
Organised by the Regional Working Group for the Americas of the International Coalition for Animal Welfare (ICFAW), WOAH Collaborating Centre for Animal Welfare and Sustainable Livestock Systems of Uruguay, Chile, and Mexico, and the University of O’Higgins, Chile.
The conference program follows the themes of chapter 7.13 “Animal Welfare and Swine Production” and its main objective is to bring together leading experts to present the topics in a logical and accessible format that facilitates wide adoption.
In addition to the speaker program, in-person panel discussions will be held each afternoon, providing further opportunities for attendees from multiple sectors to discuss the issues in detail.
The conference will be broadcast via livestreaming during the mornings of September 28 and 29 from the Auditorium of the Colchagua Campus of the University of O’Higgins, Institute of Agrifood, Animal and Environmental Sciences, in the O’Higgins Region, Chile. Simultaneous translation into English, Spanish and Portuguese will be provided. There will also be limited in-person availability to attend at the venue.
This conference is aimed at all pig producers, academics, professionals, veterinary associations, consultants, government officials and anyone with an interest in learning more about the implementation of the World Organisation for Animal Health’s recommendations for the welfare of pigs.
