With the start of the new AWRN grant we are making some changes to improve the support that we offer to Early Career Researchers (ECRs). The first step in this process has been to introduce two new roles on the Coordinating Group for ECR Representatives. Juliette Schillings (Postgraduate Representative) and Andrew Crump (Postdoc Representative) will work alongside the ECR Mentoring and Activities Officers, Karen Spencer and Lucy Asher. The next stage is to form an ECR Committee, the aim of which is to ensure ongoing dialogue between ECRs and the Coordinating Group of the AWRN and help us to deliver ECR needs across the next 3 years of funding. Some of the elements that the ECR Committee will be able to feed into include the mentoring scheme, Annual Meetings, ECR Monthly Meet Ups, a new lab placement scheme, AWRN-funded workshops and the new kick start funding scheme.
This meeting gives you all the chance to meet the new ECR team, to hear about and give input to both the roles on the ECR Committee and their proposed priorities and to ask any questions you have about this. The team have other ideas to discuss and so we hope lots of you will join us for this interactive session!
