ISAE 2021 – 54th Congress of International Society of Applied Ethology

ISAE 2021 is going online, whilst maintaining the overall themes and scientific themes that were planned for the congress in Bangalore, India. The congress will take place 2nd to 6th August 2021. The theme of the congress is “Developing Animal Behaviour and Welfare: Real Solutions for Real Problems”.


Abstract submission

You can find abstract submission on the link below, you may need to set up an account first if it is your first time using the system. 



Abstracts will be considered within any of the eight scientific themes listed below, with free papers on other topics also accepted and abstracts for online workshops also encouraged. 

1. Management of free-roaming animals (dogs, cattle etc)

2. Human behaviour change for animal welfare

3. Wild animal – human conflict

4. Application of technology to applied animal behaviour and welfare

5. Welfare of working animals

6. Behaviour and welfare of bovids

7. Farm animal production and anti-microbial resistance

8. Welfare of animals used in research and teaching


Nestle Purina will be sponsoring ISAE congress delegates that present a poster or talk on companion animals and support their registration fees! You do not have to apply for this opportunity at abstract submission. All authors of abstracts on companion animals will be contacted by the scientific committee!


The deadline for abstract submissions is 22nd March for papers or 1st May for workshops.  



Registration fee is currently 125 Euros for ISAE members and 150 Euros for Non ISAE members with reduced rates for those who are students, retired, unemployed or from low to upper middle income countries. Full details on the ISAE website. These early bird rates will end on 15th June.
