Date: 29/01/2025
University of Nottingham
This workshop which is funded by the BBSRC Seed Funding for Tech in Animal Welfare, will examine the “Use of artificial intelligence to understand equine behaviour: determining priorities and identifying new horizons”.
We are holding a workshop at Nottingham Vet School on Wednesday 29th January to bring together a group of stakeholders in equine health and welfare to discuss Artificial Intelligence (AI) monitoring of equid health and behaviour, and generate recommendations on key priorities for future use and development to improve equid welfare. The workshop is being run in collaboration with World Horse Welfare, and is supported by funding from the BBSRC Technologies for Animal Welfare seeding awards. We are inviting a range of different stakeholders, including horse owners/carers, vets, researchers, welfare representative and policy makers, and would be delighted to have AWRN members join us. We have 20 places available for this is in-person workshop and discussion group for AWRN members.
Registration
If you would like to attend, please can you email sarah.freeman@nottingham.ac.uk and include details of your experience and background, so we can plan the stakeholder groups for the discussions. We will then be back in touch to let you know if there are still places available and give you further details of the event.
Interested but can’t attend
If you are unable to attend but would like to be involved or find out more in the future, then please look out for the Delphi survey that we will be sharing with AWRN after the event. This will have details of the priorities and recommendations from the workshop and will be distributed online to enable a larger number of people to provide suggestions and feedback, and enable us to generate consensus on the key priorities and recommendations. We would love to have your input and involvement in this stage.
Thank you and Happy New Year.
